Hey Jimmy how do I fix the length thing so it will cut long jobs? Posted by John Pettit (Member # 3427) on Janu12:12 AM: Most important will be the page length factor of 64 inches, after which the PNC 1000 will want "tileing" functions from software to complete longer plots.(or if not, likely shut down).a mere quirk of the machine given up to it's longevity.I learned to compensate for that and still cut miles of vinyl.(wish it had a meter for that). Search "expand X", and "expand y" here as i've seen other info on that with older camm-1's. John.the sheet size/plot parameters are related to architectural pen drawings and such, a part of PNC 1000 history. I may have some issues to ask about concerning an older Ioline studio8 hookup, but that should be another thread. Thanks for another missing link given courtesy of y'all letterville folks. Sure is a given that my "shopdog"computer is Win98.I'm using a newer computer with Win XP pro for design and netstuff and was near to weaning a new "shopdog"computer. Thanks much Dave for that Roland upgrade link.! Posted by Jimmy Goines (Member # 5323) on Janu09:37 PM: The driver on the American site are not correct and will cause crashes and frustration.

Just to add to what jimmy said about the Windows drivers. If you are running Win 2000/NT or XP do NOT use the drivers provided on the site he e the ones on (note there is no "a" before. Thanks guys for the responces I use VMP Vinal Master Pro.Just trying to see how to set up the modes like parameters settings. Posted by John Pettit (Member # 3427) on Janu04:06 PM: I found those doing search from Roland's "Support" page. Roland still has available many supplies parts, such as oem blades, tool holders and especially the plastic platen strips.Mine is about to need replacing after 13 years. On the search page, select all 3 document location boxes, and you will get a list of all drivers and help files to download. Select "cutters" page and search Camm-1 on lower left. Google "Roland plotters" and you will find alot of other info as well. My pnc 1000 is 13 years old, with hardly no problems, only minor glitches from time to time that were software related.

I run mine via parallel cable and have found in the past that not all serial cables work as they should. Most of my software is older and uses the security "dongle" on computers parallel ports. I have called Roland on phone and they sent me a driver disc, many years ago when I was upgrading another windows computer. I will try and find that exact link as it is buried on an old computer. If you are going to plot straight from Corel and some other desktop publishers, you will need to download the windows driver from the Roland website. Most commercial software will have their own drivers, likely with setup for the plotter from the plot page. Dave is totally right on about the foreign manual.Over half of the book is devoted to programming graphics using old IBM DOS BASIC command strings. The actual operation using commercial software is pretty straightforward and simple. Posted by Jimmy Goines (Member # 5323) on Janu12:23 PM: From there you will recieve all the info you need to get cutting.

John. The manual for the PNC 1000 is like reading a foreign language!!! As Randy hints at, tell folks here what program you are running and whether you are connecting via serial or parallel port. Posted by Dave Grundy (Member # 103) on Janu09:56 AM: What program are you using to cut from John?Do you have the cable? Posted by Randy Campbell (Member # 2675) on Janu08:28 AM: Hi anyone have a manual for the pnc 1000?I just picked one up need to know how to get it up and running. Thanks Posted by John Pettit (Member # 3427) on Janu06:21 AM: This is topic ROLAND PNC 1OOO in forum Letterhead/Pinstriper Talk at The Letterville BullBoard.
